  • Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Assay Development

    Location: San Jose, CA

    The Accellix Assay Development team is looking to recruit a Senior Research Associate to help develop custom flow cytometry assays in partnership with many leading pharmaceutical companies, as well as to expand our catalog of off-the-shelf assay kits. The candidate should bring to the table relevant experience, enthusiasm for having a tangible impact on cell therapy, and a collaborative and down-to-earth attitude.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with scientists on the team to develop and qualify flow cytometry assay panels, including antibody titrations, formulation optimization, protocol optimization, and verification of expected cell subset frequencies and counts
    • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate assays onto the Accellix platform, and ensure assay requirements are met
    • Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) in lab, clearly document experimental procedures and results, and assist team in maintaining inventory of lab supplies and reagents
    • Participate in drafting and editing protocols for assay kit manufacturing and QC, and in tech transfer to the manufacturing team
    • Present updates on projects and initiate brainstorming/troubleshooting discussions within the team and to external customer audiences.
    • Promote a strong working relationship with others in the lab, facilitate open communication, proactively identify and address issues, and support other team members to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities

    Required Qualifications

    • B.S with 3+ years or M.S. with 1+ years of assay development experience in a diagnostic or pharmaceutical setting.
    • Experience with experiment design and execution of flow cytometry assays, including antibody titrations and optimizing and troubleshooting multicolor assays.
    • Experience with flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo or similar analysis software
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet goals in a timely fashion, communicate delays and escalate challenges immediately.
    • Ability to design, execute, and analyze experiments with minimal oversight.
    • Prepared to be highly engaged, both within the team and within the company.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with generating and optimizing compensation matrices to address fluorescence spectral overlap in multiparametric flow data.
    • Familiarity with common biomarkers found on leukocytes, and/or familiarity with cell-based therapies and cellular engineering.
    • Experience with product development and/or instrument automation in an industry setting.
    • Experience with assay transfer to internal or external collaborators.
    • Experience with good documentation practices (GDP) and with drafting and reviewing documents such as SOPs and development reports.
  • Scientist/Senior Scientist, Assay Development

The candidate should bring to the table relevant experience, enthusiasm for having a tangible impact on cell therapy, and a collaborative and down-to-earth attitude.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead projects to develop and qualify flow cytometry assay panels, including antibody titrations, formulation optimization, protocol optimization, and verification of expected cell subset frequencies and counts
    • Coordinate activities with junior members on the team, and work with cross-functional teams to integrate assays onto the Accellix platform, ensuring assay requirements are met
    • Provide guidance to our software engineers for development of custom auto analysis software
    • Present updates internally on projects and initiate brainstorming/troubleshooting discussions within the team
    • Represent the assay development team for project-specific discussions with external customers
    • Establish and adhere to development timelines, and identify risks to achieving milestones
    • Follow good laboratory practices (GLP) and design control policies, and generally maintain thorough documentation of experimental procedures and results
    • Participate in drafting and editing protocols for assay kit manufacturing and QC, and in tech transfer to the manufacturing team

    Location: remote

    Accellix, a Silicon Valley-based company offering a disruptive flow cytometry solution for Cell Therapy QC, is looking for a Scientific Sales Representative to assist the sales team to drive new business.

    The Scientific Sales Representative will be assigned to cover the Accellix Platform, which includes the Accellix Flow Cytometry Instrument, Cartridge-based assays, and related services. This position will be primarily responsible for managing day-to-day operations at existing accounts, developing and nurturing a pipeline of immuno-oncology and cell therapy prospects in small, mid-size, and large biotech/pharma globally. The Scientific Sales Representative manages inquiries by phone and or email, identifies target accounts decision-makers, sets up appointments for corporate field sales, and reports results on each. Will be required to proactively initiate and manage cold-call activities into a target list of accounts, warm calls for trade shows, and other incoming lead sources. The Scientific Sales Representative must be able to identify and qualify opportunities, build trust and credibility, deliver a clear and compelling message, uncover initiatives and gain commitment from prospects to engage with Accellix.

  • Software Quality Assurance Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    • Independently design, write and perform manual tests.
    • Manage software configuration, software integration and tool validation activities.
    • Provide quality support to new and sustaining product development teams focusing on software life cycle processes within design control, verification, validation, risk management, and deployment including reviews and approvals.
    • Ensure released SW meet internal software and quality requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
    • Recommend design improvements or corrections to engineers throughout the development process.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bio-Informatics, Biomedical or related engineering discipline.

  • Field Application Scientist (East Coast)

    Location: Massachusetts, US

    About the job

    This role is for a dynamic, self-motivated and experienced individual to support our Accellix Instrumentation Platform as a Field Application Scientist. The candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team which includes product development scientists, engineers, sales representatives, marketing and service employees. You sometimes will be wearing multiple hats such as pre and post-sales support, but the primary responsibilities will be to lead instrument and platform installation at the customer sites, preventative maintenance, work on cell analysis software, and troubleshoot customer assays. Additional responsibilities include technical support for customers, creation of customer facing educational and application materials, conference attendance as well as assisting in Accellix System product demonstrations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide pre and post-sales technical and application support in response to field sales requests, customer inquiries (both internal and external), including application development, documentation, training, and on-site visits when possible
    • Prioritize customer installations, demos, troubleshooting and projects so that core job functions are accomplished
    • Work independently and with Accellix team members to develop and update workflow applications, educational content for customer training in the form of training manuals, quick reference guides, videos and seminars
    • Troubleshoot customer issues requiring support while collaborating with Accellix technical subject matter experts to investigate and find solutions for the customer
    • Contribute to customer complaint process while reporting in necessary systems to escalate and solve issues
    • Document customer feedback to the rest of the development team
    • Support sales into new accounts by providing technical support in the field
    • Build new customer advocates by identifying potential key opinion leaders

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or higher degree
    • 3+ years of hands on Service Engineer or Field Applications Scientist experience with biotechnology workflows, 5+ years of experience with MS degree is preferred
    • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with flow cytometry systems required
    • This position requires extensive contact with customers and therefore outstanding written and oral communication skills are required
    • Be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with little supervision and a strong work ethic is critical

    Summary of Role:

    The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, driven, and highly organized Program Manager, with strong communication, project management and leadership skills, to drive the development, integration and commercialization of Accellix’s cellular phenotyping products. The selected individual must be capable of working collaboratively with project teams from various functions to successfully drive the new product to market, under aggressive timelines. This candidate must have a strong product development background in biotechnology, a track record of working under a product development process phase gate environment, and experience in developing and commercializing products.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Act as program leader to drive large project teams in developing program scope, dependencies, timelines and resource plans from feasibility through commercialization, partner with support teams/individuals capturing detailed input from customers to deliver a successful downstream project execution
    • Builds collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Act as conduit for VOC feedback to the internal teams
